I fell in love with the Queen of Hearts recently. There is no way to explain it. It just happened. I’m not talking about that picture we all see when playing any card game. That’s not the Queen of Hearts. She wants you to believe it is her, but that’s not her. We always see a queen when we pick up that card. I know what you want to know. When, where, how, why, and many other things that occurred when I fell so hard for the love of my life.
It happened one day when I was playing a game of Solitaire. Well, sometimes it’s fun to play alone. You don’t have to think about what is acceptable to talk about or whether or not you might hurt someone’s feelings. You could hurt your feelings, but that doesn’t last long. Does it? Well, it doesn’t for me, at least.
So, I played a game of Solitaire. I do it this way, and it is a lot of fun. I draw a card, and without looking at it, I put it face down on the table before me.
OK, this is what I just typed “00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000013………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………2”
That is an exact quote! It is what I said to myself when I fell asleep typing. It could be a coded message from my subconscious. Someday, I will understand what the folks on the other side of my subconscious are telling me. Let’s get on with my love affair with the Queen of Hearts.
That’s what it is. There are 54 cards, including the Jokers, so I don’t have much chance of guessing the card.
If I get it wrong, I drink a half shot of Tennessee whiskey. I have a special half-shot glass for this game. I tried once with a whole shot but almost didn’t recover. Everybody must salute his own limits. Right?
Whether I get it right or wrong, I put the card aside, away from the deck. That way, my guesses get more correct as time passes, and the deck I’m drawing from becomes smaller.
If I guess correctly, the Queen of Hearts talks to me. She tells me all of the good things that she sees in me.
She might say, “Oh Robert, you are so exciting. I love it when you get it right. Let’s do something together. Let’s practice playing our guitars together. What do you think?”
When she says that, I grab my guitar and begin playing lead with a blues backing track that the Queen provides on YouTube. I like that.
She says, “Oh, Robert, keep trying if I get it wrong. We both know that you get better as time goes on. Drink that half shot and pick another card.”
If I reach the end of the game, I consider that a win. Usually, this doesn’t happen. I wake up, and the deck has lost its integrity. Cards can be found in all sorts of locations and conditions.
I go to my new deck depository and grab a new deck to start over again.
